The JBL SP-150 subwoofer is one of two devices in our test equipped with a built-in crossover with a smooth change in cutoff frequency. However, the accuracy of this device, like most of its kind, leaves much to be desired. The lower limiting frequency is 37 Hz. A visually noticeable increase in nonlinear distortions is noted only at a high signal level (Fig. 2).
